Ow!

Man, I am hurting. Not a good reason for not posting, but I've been getting a couple of hours of sleep each night [no, not due to activity!!].

I have aggrievated my left rotator cuff [non-throwing side]. Originally, I had suffered some inflammation to the area back in '01, when I wrecked my mountain bike [remember?]. Not entirely sure, but I was on the phone with my pal, Mallory, a week ago and slouched against my truck's door [stretching the left side.....] Next morning when I awoke, I was hurting. It has gotten better. Strangely, it did not hurt yesterday in the daytime, maybe because I was at home and could eat ibuprofen every couple of hours and rub down with IcyHot. Can't get comfortable while lying down and refuse to sleep sitting up.

Any nurses out there? Yes, I know I am abusing myself somewhat, what with dosages of ibuprofen, and Monster Energy drinks and coffee, and sleeping aids..... count backwards, then, from the end of my life, and we'll be square. All things must pass. George Harrison said that.

Aww, sorry to hear that you've been in misery, Chuck. :-( The no sleeping certainly doesn't help your situation either. I would imagine that if your pain continues for another week or so, that you should go and get it checked out.

I benefitted from some treatments called Prolotherapy for my elbow pain (tendonitis, I guess) that would flare up from time to time. I haven't had any problems since. Best thing I ever did!

Hey, off subject, but I'm sure you've noticed...Old Goat's site is down for almost a week now and I have no idea if it'll be up and running anytime soon. I really don't have any way of contacting anyone but you! I e-mailed OG, but it must be an account that he doesn't use or check often. There's other options to start up another forum if his original site ends up being lost, but it's kind of a bummer if it is.

Hope you get to feeling better soon. You need someone to come cook and clean for you? ;-)

Heyas Chuck!
Sorry to hear about the hurting. While I'm not a nurse, my mom is, and for stuff like that, she recommends a cocktail of sorts.

Alternate 2 tylenol and 2 ibuprofen (i've discovered that motrin is magical, even above advil) every two hours. ie- ibuprofen @ noon, tylenol @ 2, etc. Once works solely on the pain, and the other is the anti-inflammatory. Together, they make a pretty effective inflammation napalm. Also, keep up with the icy hot if it helps keep you comfy. And, if it doesn't go away in a few more days, I suggest a trip to the doc's office. If only because they can give you really nice shots of really nice things.

Trust me on that. Wrenched my neck twice- I'll tell you that muscle relaxers and prescription painkillers are an awesome combo...if you don't mind being a tad drooly but reeeeeeeeeaaaaallly happy. ;)

Also, I did the 'Peyton got served' dance all around my house. Better QB than Tommy my ass. He's a one and done. Got his ring and it's back to mediocre!

17-0 and very happy!

I sure hope you're feeling better there, Chuck. I was just chiming in to let you know that Old Goat has started a new site, although no one knows for sure if his first one will eventually be back. Hope you stop by to register because it wouldn't be the same without you, that's for sure. :-)

Oops, somehow the whole address didn't come up, but actually it works without the "index" word.

Sorry to hear that you are hurting. Doing gentle stretches might help you out a bit, but don't over do it.

I agree with Melanie's mom, drinking can help. Have a nice single malt scotch, and then hit the hot tub.

BTW, as you saw from Charmaine, the other Yankee Fans Unite web site got knocked down. It seems the server crashed due to weather. Who knew they allowed servers to be out in the rain?

Please, stop by when you get a chance to the new site. More than likely the old one is not going to be able to be restored, and I always enjoy your insights and comments.

Thanks, everybody - feeling much better today at long last. I'm going to celebrate with steak and beer at Logan's Roadhouse. Pour me another, Lindsey ;-)
