Who's Buried at....

Link accessible by clicking on story title - thanks!

So, a Bronx Benedict Arnold has buried a David Ortiz Red Socks jersey under the new Yankee Stadium in hopes that it will curse the Yankees for the next 30 years....
Doofus. Thank you for answering the question of "Who's buried at Yankee Stadium":
[1] Ortiz
[2] Boston
[3] Your $88 per hour job, since you evidently engage in misconduct.
Oh, and no worries about the negative energy, Gino - we've had a Wiccan witch banish that stuff in a special ceremony [after which - get it? hahaha] a Boston jersey got beaten with a broom. "So easy a cave man could do it?" Not in your case, chum. Leave the curses to those who do it right, numnutz [Bambino, Billy Goat...]
Now, on to brass tacks. One can see that this new "curse" did not affect the old Stadium, as Cy Wang nearly no-hit Boston, winning 3-1 in a masterful complete game. Three wins already! Three wins last year on May 19, and he got 19 overall. Wanger is last year's Beckett :-) Speaking of Bex, he goes this afternoon against Moose, who has erased the vestiges of time, or so it would appear. 3:55 EDT on Fox, and I'll be there :-)
Now, I am certain that Miss Melanie will have a differing view of things, and I welcome her riposte, but even her vaunted logic cannot assuage one vital concept: Traitors should be dealt with appropriately.

I have no problems with treating traitors appropriately. However, you'll have to forgive my amused chuckle. We have better ways to take down the Yanks, anywho. The hell do we need the help of some shmuck from NY screwing it up for?

He was probably a damn pink hat that thought he knew something we long time fans didn't, anyway. Before the Yankees fans get to him, please allow us to tar and feather him first. (We got pretty good at that during the Revolution, you know, and up here, a Yanks fan is just as bad as a loyalist was then...Funny how NY also became one of the last loyalist bastions...hrmmm....) :)

How are you, Chuck? Much as I respect Moose, I'm really starting to think that he doesn't really have it anymore. Oh, and could JD Drew be any more popular this year? :) I told people to be patient and that it takes a year to settle in here.

Interview went pretty well- building's right on the corner of Yawkey Way. That's destiny, dude. Destiny. :D

Gosh, Mellie, it's so sexy when you talk like that! By all means, heat up the tar kettle and pluck those chickens ;-)

Meantime, the Yanks have pulled the offending garment [Ortiz, #34] from the rubble [they jack-hammered some concrete into said rubble after receiving tips from Yankees fans in the know] and have given it to The Jimmy Fund [which the Yankees donate to regularly]; the thought being that now, perhaps, The Jimmy Fund will auction off "The Curse That Wasn't" and turn something mean-spirited into something good. Amen.

Moose? Having watched him, his velocity is a bit up, and that has renewed his confidence to paint the corners. Hey, if Greg Maddux can do it, why not Moose? He just shouldn't have pitched to Manny with 1B open last night, is all. Basic baseball, and we did not pass the pop quiz :-(

You are right about Drew - couldn't get any worse than last year without being hurt or finished, and he's too young for that. Now, Papi is getting on in years and has that big body type - when they decline, it hits very quickly. Could it be ovah for Ortiz?

Me, I'm fine, thank you. A bit stiff today and befuddled by the local [and not-so-local] lasses as always =:-0 More on that to follow ;-)

I know at least that the Boss donated every year. He calls for the radio-telethon before they start broadcasting and donates a minimum of ten grand. (98 cents of each dollar, btw, comes back for patient care and research.) Couple years ago, Trump was here and called him out, said the Boss was cheap, and donated something on the order of 600 g's. We are MLB's oldest officially affliated charity, don't cha know. I'm glad that it's going to work out, especially for the kids. They're so great up here.

From a purely baseball standpoint, though, on Moose and the general Yanks' rotation, I'm not sure that I would feel comfortable having to put so much pressure on the younger pitchers. They each essentially have to win a minimum of fifteen games, and that's a lot. Moose has looked a little better- but what are the odds it will stay that way given his past history and how long the season gets?

As for Papi, I think he'll be all right. He's been pretty tentative in putting weight on that front knee like he used to since his surgery. Let him sit a few games and get his head together. I mean, it's not like we're dying without him- Manny at DH and Jacoby in left isn't a bad substitution, you know. I think he'll feel better if he can see that the pressure's not all on him to win. :) Terry's a smart manager. He'll do what's best for everyone involved.

I hear ya on the stiffness thing, although mine is from sleeping on my parents' couch for the weekend as opposed to exercise. Girl trouble, eh? You'll have to toss me an email.

Two down and sixteen to go. :D

(Btw, poor Jeets looked wicked upset at being sidelined. ...not that I was looking for shots of him or anything.)
