Maybe. The New York Post is reporting that Alex Rodriguez is going to opt out of his contract, making him a free agent [according to his agent, Scott Boras].

This could just be posturing on the part of Boras. However, if it is true, I say the guy doesn't want to be in the Bronx. No team is bigger than one individual, no matter how mighty. We need a team that is greater than the sum of the parts. Better get Joe Girardi.
