Bizzy!

Folks, it sure looks like time is elapsing in between posts - I just noticed my last actual POST [not response] was on Saturday.

Well, ya gotta forgive me on that account.
Ya see, I am in the process of moving to Norfolk, completing lots of forms for my new place of work, packing and moving stuff to storage, working on a safety program for one of my friends' business, and there just are not enough hours in the day.

Driving to Norfolk on Thursday to scout around and such, and who knows what the trons will be like while on the road. I have the Acer laptop and my Blackberry can tie in as a modem, so we should be covered, but if this site goes dark for a time, you'll know why :-)

All the best, Chuck

Pretty sure we understand busy, my friend.

I have relatives that live roundabouts Norfolk. Pretty cool area if you're into history. (Side note- always nice to go to Yorktown in the evening to see the deer come out at the edges of the woods. Huzzah for the the Colonial parkway!)

Almost forgot: 2 games back, finishing the season on the road against 2 teams you have shaky records against. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Tick tock. ;)

Thanx for the tip on Yorktown and the deer, Melanie! I love to go driving and see deer [here in StL, we drive out highway 79 along the Mississippi River to do exactly the same thing :-) ]

I'll be living out Virginia Beach, by the ocean as opposed to Chesapeake Bay, but I'll get up that way, to Yorktown. The 1781 battle was there, plus Busch Gardens, Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg [the AB Brewery, too?] are all out that way.

Then, inland, Appomattox and a lot of such sites. Great, great stuff!

Well' y'all will have to come visit if yer ever down yonder :-)

It's a long season, cher.
162 games, not just two.
Ask not for whom the bell tolls..

Tick tock
goes the clock
126 photos
of Beckett's jock.

Thank you for the summary
of your weekend at the Fens
;-) hahaha

Nice poem. ;) Yeah, that's all out on the colonial parkway, which really isn't all that far if you look at it. I have a friend who lives in VA beach. So chances are I might get down that way.

Also- Tampa owns the Yanks. Just thought I'd get that out of the way. 3 down, still need to win 1 to even get a playoff berth...the weather's beautiful in Boston, with little chance of raining bodies. How are things in Yankee-land?

(insert ticking noise from '24' here.)

Happy Wednesday, Chuck. ;)

I love '24' - didja notice Kiefer [irony of name, there, a little] just got busted for his 2nd DUI, and might spend time in the clink?

With the performance of one BBrian BBruney [notice the 'BB' styling indicating Base on Balls?], walking men like there is no tomorrow, followed by giving up a granny to a dude who had zero home runs on the year, I can only imagine what Bostonians must feel regarding one Eric Gagne. Alpo is too good for this one ;-)

After the poor performances [and questionable managing] of last night's game, one must feel for those poor fans who shelled out hard earned $$$ to watch the ChiSox tank the '19 Series to Cincy. So, yer right, it's only one game and we're on to the playoffs, but even as just one game, it was about as palatable as swigging from a milk carton only to discoved the date has long since expired.

Happy news! Alex is ending his homer-less streak. What a time to get hot. Johnny Damon [thank you, BTW] was 5 for 5 last night, and is playing effectively out in left. Anybody who sez we have to trade that guy es muy loco, ya know? And, Iggy pitched effectively!!! He was wild, but some of that was getting squeezed by the plate ump.

Cajun chow. I've got frog legs up in the freezer :-) Laissez le bon temps rouler, eh?

not so big on the frog legs, but damn, I would kill somebody for a good gumbo and muffaletta right 'bout now. Part of the reason we try to make a yearly trek down South.

Still though, even with the numbers some of your boys put up, I would be preeeeeeeeeettty damn worried that you couldn't take care of *Tampa*. I mean, really, Chuck. *Tampa*?? In extra innings? They shouldn't have even had a shot after the first. Holy cow. (Don't mean to be a troll, but if you want to win a World Series, you should be able to effectively bury a team that's so far under .500 that most people forget they exist...)

Also, careful about crowing about numbers....Manny and Youk are back. And Manny could roll out of bed, as Dan Shaugnessy pointed out in the Globe today, and crack the ever-loving crap out of a ball, even though he hadn't seen one in months.

Anywho...work to do.

Roux?

I DO! hahahahaha

Numbers indicate my guys are getting hot, and that makes me happy. Losing to Tampa is ALWAYS frustrating, especially like last night. Bruney flat out can't throw strikes, and Edwar looks lost right now. We managed to lose [interpret that however ye wish, it works either way!] last night, and I didn't like how. Woulda been nice if their OF wandered around and lost a short fly ball in the ceiling for a game-winning HR; maybe tonight!! [After all, they have practice at that] Happy Wednesday!! ;-)

Well, then. Either you'll have a reason to visit the lovely Northeast, or I'll have a great excuse to go down to see Uncle Larry and Aunt Donna and my cousin Brenda down in Newport News, huh?

I'm one of Tampa's biggest fans tonight. ;)

Charles L. Wallace said...

Aw, gee; in THAT case, welcome to disappointment, Tampafan as we welcome the Yankees to the playoffs ;-)

Still gonna take the East. Also still going to have the best record in the game.

I figured that Baltimore would give the Yanks their playoff spot, anywho. Didn't think Tampa would really keep them out. I'm not that naieve.

However, before you go crowing about how hot the Yanks are getting- especially against teams under .500, take a look at the Sox line-up and the last two games. Come next week, if you make it past the first round, watch your backs.

Also, Mike Lowell for President.

Best record in baseball?
I hope YOU can make roux!!! hahaha

We're in that part of the season where other teams fear the Yankees.
Oh, and we match up well against Boston. That's not a scary monster, hiding under yer bed....

Sweet dreams...

By the way- tied with Cleveland, and oh, did I mention we win the tie-breaker hands down? Check your cupboards, Chuck, that's all I'm saying. ;)

In the groove we're in, I would be afraid, or at least aware that you guys might go down- like I said, *if* you make it past the first round. :D
