Happy Friday the 14th!!

Yanks coulda won last night. Maybe even shoulda won. Stellar performance from young Ian Kennedy, who has been really impressive, mixing speeds, hitting his spots, and having more maturity than anyone ever could have hoped for.

Melky Cabrera ran into the wall while chasing down a Frank Thomas double. The Rogers Centre field is one of those plastic abominations that kills players' knees, and there is no real warning track. On most fields, the grass ends several feet before the fence, and this gap is covered with cinder clay, like the old running tracks. At Rogers, it is merely a different colour of turf. On a real grass field, Melky mighta made the catch.

Johnny D homered, and it woulda been 1 zip. Going into the ninth, we woulda used Mariano Rivera, who prolly woulda nailed it shut. Yanks win, 1-0.

Instead, we brought in Chris Britton. Folks have been clamouring for "Great" Britton, and he managed to lose very quickly. "Five Easy Pitches" but not starring Jack Nicholson. I just don't see what everyone saw in Britton, exempting perhaps their dinners. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, however: maybe he was flat from not having pitched for so long. I sure hope he holds up his end of the bargain.

Tough loss, but we are fine, mentally.
Get those brooms ready, boys, tonight we're off to the Big Green Sardine Can.
Go Yankees!

I'm positive, but nervous at the same time about this weekend. I'm scared that I'm becoming obsessed with this whole thing, I'm skipping a party tonite to stay home and watch the game! what is wrong with me???

Pennant fever. It's okay, really! It's a desirable result [well, a series of them - Yankees sweep, Yanks continue winning, Yanks edge Boston for the East, Yanks win ALDS and ALCS, Yanks win the Series!] Optimism is contagious. So is enthusiasm. You've been bitten [smitten?] by the bug. Baseball fever. Catch it :-)

Alright, I hope you enjoyed tonights ride on the optimist bus. See you back on the bus tomorrow!

What a game!

Denise, tonight's game is why you are obsessed. Embrace it!! Go Yankees!!

i'm getting sick of the Sox fans in the Post blog....they are so fair-weather and only come out to bash when the time is "right". I'm so over it. The tick tick tick thing is so stupid and annoying, it sounds like a dumb teenager ranting. T don't care what they say, the way we won and the way they won are 2 different ways. Our way was so much more devastating to them, hitting their setup guy and closer; and us losing yesterday was just fatigue, no pep in their step, and understandably so. hopefully they were able to get to bed early and have a nice day of rest until they need to get to the ballpark for tonite. what do you make of Shelly Duncan's autograph signing yesterday?

Oh, what a beautifully played game, tonight! Most of my fingers are bleeding and I probably won't fall asleep for a long time. Cool, seemed like October in the air. Trust our Cap to put the Hurt on Curt! Denise, good point about the Post; sad but they really neglect what could be a nice revenue stream for them. You've been on Peter Abraham's blog, no? Young Shelley Duncan? He's an enthusiastic nut, and just got caught up in the rivalry. Hope he signs the kid a bat and apologizes [the kid should put the ball on E-Bay after Yanks win the Series = $$$!!! hahaha] Go Yankees!

no, I haven't been on Abraham's, but the Daily News - Mark Feinstand's blog, it's good.

yeah, it was a great game and I'm not counting out the Division. There is nothing I want more that to take it back from "them". It belongs to us and we need to take what is ours!!
